as the RAF's VC10s were regular visitors to my local airport in Hannover (HAJ/EDDV) for many years, I'd like to share a small selection of the pictures I took there over the past few years.
The old ladies were usually parked right in front of the RAF Terminal at Bay 21A, such as XV106 on 12 July 2008
As you can see in this night shot, there are still markings for the VC10 and Tristar, which is quite uncommon for a civilian airport these days
On many occasions, the VC10s had a real talent to arrive at HAJ in the worst possible weather. But who cares about the weather when a Ten is on approach

Sometimes the VC10s also used nearby Paderborn airport instead of Hannover, as did XV105 on 3 October 2010
It's always been great to experience the grace and power of the VC10 and it will be a very very sad day when the final curtain falls on these marvelous aircraft next month
